REMEMBER TO ALWAYS USE SAFE SURFING PRACTICES! NEVER GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OR ENGAGE IN "CHATS" - IT IS JUST NOT REQUIRED TO GET MATH HELP!
This is an interactive on line tutoring website that is promoted by our school board. It is free. We will be registering everyone on February 28th. After that you will be able to ask tutors questions via their tutoring rooms. It is secure and is monitored. There is even audio explanations to your questions from some of the tutors - Check it out - very cool and helpful!!
I found an application for our specific textbook. It has practice exams and quizzes for each section of our textbook. This might be a good way to prep yourself for tests / quizzes...culminating and exam.
If you are struggling with grade 9 material...look no further. This site is similar to the one for the grade 10 book, however it also has section summary notes for your review, crosswords etc.
This is also an excellent website for review of grade 9 material! Just click the unit and then select a topic that you would like to review. A question will be presented...you can try the question and then check your answer. After you check the answer you can see the "Model Solution" or try an "Interactive Solution". For each topic you can keep trying new problems. A great review resource!
The On Line Math Learning site has resources that consist of explanations, video links etc. The topics have been split up by grade / subject etc. on the left hand side. Just search for the topic you are working on and then go.
This site may look like it is for pre-school kids but it is a fantastic site for high school math and maybe even a little beyond. The "Algebra" tab on the left and the "Geometry/Trig Reference" lower down on the right will be your main tabs but don't forget about the other topics shown below the main topics. If you are frazzled or stressed see the "Totally Stressed Out" tab on the right...it might help!
Purple math has an abundance of material on the math you will be working on in grade 9 but also covers topics that will get you through high school and beyond. For this year you will probably stick to topics under the headings "Preliminary Topics" and "Basic Algebra Topics"...after this year...who knows!
Just what it sounds like - videos to help you with any of the topics you may be struggling with throughout the year. Just find your topic from the options on the menus on the left and then choose the "TV" example you want to see. Try it...you might like it!
Not quite like Math TV but many video tutorials that will help you brush up on basic math as well as provide explanations to some of the more difficult topics this year. The main topics would be under the headings "High School Math - Algebra" and "Middle School Math". Good luck!
ExploreLearning.com offers a huge library of interactive online simulations (Gizmos). These interactive activities are fun, research based and designed to supplement what we are learning this semester. If you are not understanding something the way I teach it (totally possible) then check these out. They are a different way of learning the same thing and can be very helpful.
To get started just click "Enrol in a Class" on the top right and enter the class code shown below. From here you can set your username and password and start "Gizmo'ing"
The Kutasoft site is a place to get extra practice worksheets that have the answers as well. Just click on the topic you would like to work on and Kutasoft will generate a worksheet and provide the answers on a separate page.
